The Online Student Internship Program (SIP) offers motivated rising 12th grade students career exploration through a month long virtual internship placements. This program will be held in June of 2021. Students interested in applying are required to complete the following portions of the application by April 9, 2021 to be considered for the program. Traineeships are offered at the EFTA Secretariat for 11 months from 1 September until 31 July. We are looking for engaged young professionals or recent graduates from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland (EFTA Member State nationals) for traineeships at the EFTA Secretariat in the Brussels, Luxembourg or Geneva offices. EFTA traineeships and the Short Term Expert Position provide young professionals and recent graduates with a unique opportunity to experience and participate in the work of the Association and learn about the inner workings of e.g. the EEA Agreement or grants management.

Employment contracts are normally for a fixed period of three years. Depending on the needs of the EFTA Court, a renewal for three years may be offered, but normally not more than once. ii. Non-EU/EFTA Nationals. Citizens of non-EU/EFTA countries are forbidden to seek paid employment during the first 6 months from their arrival in Switzerland.
